MATH - 3357 Partial Differential Equations Description The heat, wave and Laplace equations and boundary value problems, the method of separation of variables, special functions, orthogonal expansion, Sturm-Liouvulle theory, the Fourier and Laplace transform methods. Additional topics may include Green’s functions, Poisson’s integral formula for the disk and variational calculus if time permits. Prerequisites: MATH 2321 and MATH 3316 or MATH 3336 .
