Overview

The Minor in Computer Science is designed to provide students with elementary skills in computing as well as a substantial computing background for graduate studies in fields where computers have become primary research tools.

I. Departmental Requirements:

24 hours of computer science including:

A. Core Principles:

CSCI - 1320 Principles of Computer Science I Credits: 3
CSCI - 1321 Principles of Computer Science II Credits: 3
CSCI - 1323 Discrete Structures Credits: 3 OR
MATH - 3326 Introduction to Abstract Mathematics Credits: 3 AND
CSCI - 1123 Bridge to Discrete Structures Credits: 1
CSCI - 2320 Principles of Data Abstraction Credits: 3

B. Nine additional upper-division computer science hours.

C. Mathematics requirement: 3 credits from the following:

Any MATH course 1304 or higher
CSCI - 2324 Numerical Calculus Credits: 3
PHIL - 3340 Symbolic Logic II Credits: 3
PHIL - 3343 Nonclassical Logics Credits: 3
PSYC - 2401 Statistics and Methods I Credits: 4
BAT - 2301 Statistics for Business and Economics Credits: 3
